Is Customer Service Still Relevant?
I write this
blog because I’ve been noticing that more and more businesses have been pushing
the whole customer service aspect of whatever they are supplying. Whether it be
healthcare, groceries, or lawn equipment they are really pushing customer
service. My question is….does that really matter anymore? I just feel like
customer service is a thing that only old people value. Is it just me? Everything
now-a-days is just so expensive are people really willing to pay extra because
the customer service was better? For instance, if I was going to buy groceries
and at one store (Let’s call is HappyMart) they have someone greet me at the
door, they ask me how I am, and they pay attention to me. Now across the street
is ShitCity, a rival grocery store. They sell all the same shit but they are
incredibly rude, they don’t pay attention to me, and they flat out insult me to
my face. “Yea like you need more Oreos tubby.” Though I can’t figure out why
their employees are so hateful….their groceries are much cheaper than
HappyMart. So where would I go? ShitCity all day son. Save money where I can.
If I can get minimal service with top notch savings then I’m going to take that
11 times out of 10. My point is…..I don’t care if a business calls me on my
birthday. I don’t care if they send me flowers when a loved on passes. I don’t
even care if they remember my name when I walk in. To me it’s all about where I
can get the best deal. Am I the only one who thinks this? Are people still
paying for good customer service or are they going to the place they can save the
most money at?
