Boston Craft Beer Fest Kicked Ass

I hope all of you went to check The
Guy out at the 2012 Craft Beer Festival in Boston! And if you didn’t, you missed a hell of a
time. The people there were happy, loud,
and pretty damn intoxicated (which we all know is the definition of an awesome
time). At least half of the crowd
consisted of 20- to 30-something year old people who love beer and getting
drunk with friends. One of these Beer
Fest goers, Hunter Dufrane, described it as being massive, like a mall. “Tables were set up everywhere,” says Dufrane,
“like a career fair. Some [breweries]
brought whole displays with them, but some brought just a big banner.” Either way, the place was littered with
signs, people, vendors, and mini beer mugs.
Some of the brewers chose to stick to serving one beer creation, while
others offered up four or more varieties.
Some of the biggest hits this year were the spicy brews like JalapeƱo
and other dangerous chilies. Dufrane
described the atmosphere as being hectic but fun, with people always
approaching his small herd of friends asking their advice on vendors or
recommendations for their next sample.
Given the opportunity, Dufrane offered up his opinion to The Guy about
Pretty Things beer, one his favorite vendors this year. “They were handing out stickers [and selling
shirts] that said ‘stay pretty and drink real beer’,” explained Dufrane, “I
thought that was pretty cool.” One
Pretty Things beer that stood out to him was their sweet cheesecake flavored
beer. Where else could you find
something like that?? The beer fest turned out to be another success this year,
hosting beers that even avid drinkers cannot find in the North-East. So basically, if you missed the Craft Beer
Fest this year, not only did you miss out on seeing The Guy, but you missed a
hell of a time. You better get your ass
there next year!
